I glanced at the NFL Pro Bowl on January 27, 2013.  I understand there is some consideration to getting rid of the game.

I say keep the game.  If nothing else, NFL fans get a chance to view, perhaps, 10 minutes of something that resembles football.

I had a busy work week, so I am just making my picks for the NFL Conference Championship games. 



I pick the San Francisco 49ers the win the NFC Championship over the Atlanta Falcons.


I pick the New England Patriots to defeat the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game.

GREGORY CHANDLER--NFL DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS PREDICTION RESULTS

I picked the home teams to win in the NFL divisional playoff games.  The games were played on January 12, 2013 and January 13, 2013.


The San Francisco 49ers did defeat the Green Bay Packers.

The Atlanta Falcons did defeat the Seattle Seahawks.

The New England Patriots prevailed over the Houston Texans.


My one wrong prediction is that the Baltimore Ravens beat the Denver Broncos.

GREGORY CHANDLER--COLLEGE BOWL PREDICTIONS ARE TOUGH

The 2012-2013 College Football Bowl season ended on January 7, 2013.


I was 17 predictions correct and 18 predictions wrong.


Some observations.  College bowl games are played with a significant time gap between the regular season and the bowl game.  By the time the bowl season arrives, many teams are using an interim coach.

The Alabama Crimson Tide kicked the Notre Dame Fighting Irish around the field in
the BCS National Championship.


The game was no contest.

The Crimson Tide were just too physical for the (non) Fighting Irish.


Final Score: 42 to 14.

The wild card round of the NFL playoffs will be played on January 5, 2013 and
January 6, 2013.


I predict:

1.  Houston Texas over the Cincinnati Bengals.

2.  Green Bay Packers over the Minnesota Vikings.

3.  Baltimore Ravens over the Indianapolis Colts.

4.  The Washington NFL team over the Seattle Seahawks.      


I pick the home team in each contest.  

I note, however, the Seattle Seahawks are favored by the odds makers to win.
