GREGORY CHANDLER: BALTIMORE RAVENS' PREDICTION CORRECT

On September 6, 2013, I predicted that the Baltimore Ravens would not repeat as Super Bowl Champions.  The Ravens finished the season today
at 8-8.  The Ravens failed to make the playoffs.

Prediction correct.

GREGORY CHANDLER--NBA SEASON

The very long NBA season started this week.

This writer does not pay full attention to the NBA until after the Super Bowl.

Perhaps I can change my ways this season.

GREGORY CHANDLER--BALTIMORE RAVENS--TOO BAD

I have said all along that the Baltimore Ravens would not repeat as Super Bowl Champions.

As of October 20, 2013, the Ravens are 3 wins
and 4 losses for the season.  Therefore, the Super
Bowl Champions have a losing record.

GREGORY CHANDLER --BALTIMORE RAVENS PREDICTION--GOOD SO FAR

On September 6, 2013, I wrote that the Baltimore Ravens would not repeat as Super Bowl Champions.

Today, the Ravens lost to the Green Bay Packers.

My prediction is good so far.  The Ravens are 3 wins and 3 losses for the 2013 season.

GREGORY CHANDLER SAYS NO SUPER BOWL REPEAT FOR THE BALTIMORE RAVENS

The Baltimore Ravens looked quite bad during the NFL season opener on September 5, 2013.

For those who are still enjoying the summer season, the Denver Broncos defeated the Ravens by a score of 49 to 27.

It is difficult to repeat as a Super Bowl champion.  Even after only one game, a repeat championship does not seem likely for the Ravens.

GREGORY CHANDLER--ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE

The Alabama Crimson Tide football team started the season with a win.

The score was Crimson Tide 35 and Virginia Tech 10.

Roll Tide!!!

GREGORY CHANDLER--2013 COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON

We are in the late Labor Day weekend period.  That means that it is time for college football.

Can anyone challenge the Alabama Crimson Tide and the other teams in the Southeastern Conference?

GREGORY CHANDLER--SAY NO TO NFL PRE-SEASON FOOTBALL

I had the torture of watching a small amount of NFL pre-season football in recent days.

My advice is to stay away from the NFL until a few days before the regular NFL season starts.

Enjoy the summer.

The NFL pre-season is a mid-summer's nightmare.

GREGORY CHANDLER --RUSSIAN BOYCOTT?

The Russian government has allowed Edward Snowden to remain in Russia for one year.

Some in the USA are pushing for a boycott against the 2013 Winter Olympic games in Russia.

In 1980, the USA boycotted the 1980 Summer Olympic games held in the then Soviet Union.

Therefore, as to a future boycott, the USA has already had a nonsensical boycott in recent decades.

My view is that the boycott talk should end.

GREGORY CHANDLER--SOME DRAMA FOR THE MIAMI HEAT

I predicted that the Miami Heat would defeat the San Antonio Spurs in six games to win the 2012-2013 NBA Championship.

However, it took the Heat seven games to win the championship.

After some drama, the team predicted to win prevailed.

GREGORY CHANDLER-SERENA WILLIAMS WINS-DOWN GOES SHARAPOVA

June 8, 2013

Serena Williams defeated Maria Sharapova today in the 2013 French Open.

However, it is routine for Serena Williams to defeat Maria Sharapova.

For reasons that I will not enter into, many tennis fans in the USA prefer the Soviet Union/Russian-born Sharapova over Serena Williams of the USA.

Oh well.  Serena Williams is a much better tennis player than Maria
Sharapova.

GREGORY CHANDLER-HEAT SEEKING CHAMPIONSHIP

The Miami Heat did have a bump in the road against the Indiana Pacers.

I expect the Heat to defeat the San Antonio Spurs in six games to win the 2012-2013 NBA Championship.

GREGORY CHANDLER--MIAMI HEAT BUMP IN THE ROAD

The Miami Heat are tied in their conference finals against the
Indiana Pacers.  The wins are now 1 and 1 for each team.

Sounds like a bump in the road on the way to an
NBA Championship for the Miami heat.

The NBA Playoffs are at the Final Four Stage.

GREGORY CHANDLER--GOOD NEWS FOR LOUISVILLE CARDINALS

I had several arbitration hearings in early April 2013.

Anyway, I did enjoy the game.   As the U.S. sporting world knows, the Louisville Cardinals won the Championship.

GREGORY CHANDLER--KEEP THE NFL PRO BOWL

I glanced at the NFL Pro Bowl on January 27, 2013.  I understand there is some consideration to getting rid of the game.

I say keep the game.  If nothing else, NFL fans get a chance to view, perhaps, 10 minutes of something that resembles football.

GREGORY CHANDLER--NFL DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS PREDICTION RESULTS

I picked the home teams to win in the NFL divisional playoff games.  The games were played on January 12, 2013 and January 13, 2013.

The San Francisco 49ers did defeat the Green Bay Packers.

The Atlanta Falcons did defeat the Seattle Seahawks.

The New England Patriots prevailed over the Houston Texans.

My one wrong prediction is that the Baltimore Ravens beat the Denver Broncos.

GREGORY CHANDLER--COLLEGE BOWL PREDICTIONS ARE TOUGH

The 2012-2013 College Football Bowl season ended on January 7, 2013.

I was 17 predictions correct and 18 predictions wrong.

Some observations.  College bowl games are played with a significant time gap between the regular season and the bowl game.  By the time the bowl season arrives, many teams are using an interim coach.
