The final count is that the USA won the medal count in the 2012 London Olympic with 104 medals.  

Coming in second was China with 87 medals.

Venus Williams and Serena Williams won a gold medal in doubles play today at the 2012 London Olympics.   

This is more evidence that the Williams sisters have dominated women's tennis during the past 10 years.

Serena Williams, of the USA,  crushed Maria Sharapova today to win the Women's Gold Medal for tennis at the 2012 London Olympic Games. 

I have commented before that Sharapova gets an inordinate amount of media coverage in the United States.
